Biography
Rachel Filgueiras Pinto, MD, MMSc is a board-certified Nephrologist recognized for her expertise in Internal Medicine. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, RJ – Brazil, Dr. Pinto earned her medical degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense, completed residency training at the University of Arizona, and specialized further by achieving a fellowship at the University of California San Diego.
At SKI Silverbell, Dr. Pinto provides comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease, with a strong focus on Glomerular Diseases and Nephrolithiasis. She has published research on Nephrolithiasis and Renal transplant, and serves as a Physician.
When interacting with her patients, Dr. Pinto’s care philosophy is “to advocate for personalized care that emphasizes shared decision-making, prioritizing patient education and active engagement. This approach empowers individuals to take charge of their health and fosters a more collaborative relationship between patients and providers.”
Dr. Pinto is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and received the Outstanding Resident in Nephrology – University of Arizona award. She is an active member of the ABIM and the Brazilian Society of Nephrology. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, cooking, hanging out with friends and family, and singing.
