Teh-Li Huo, MD, PhD, is a board-certified internal medicine with a fellowship training in nephrology He earned his medical degree from Taipei Medical University, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, completed his residency training in internal medicine at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and fellowship training in nephrology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
At Southwest Kidney Institute, Dr. Huo provides comprehensive kidney care, with a strong focus on resistant hypertension and electrolyte disturbances. His research includes studies on kidney dopamine receptors and calcium transport.
When interacting with his patients, Dr. Huo’s care philosophy is: “I strive to do my best to solve challenging problems, care for patients facing difficult situations, and pursue cures for seemingly incurable illnesses.”
Dr. Huo is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has received multiple NIH research grants. He is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN). Outside of medicine, he enjoys scientific research, travel, sports, and music.
