Biography
Amandeep Khurana, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist and transplant nephrologist. Dr. Khurana earned his medical degree from Delhi University (MAMC); completed residency training in internal medicine at SUNY Syracuse; and specialized further by achieving a fellowship in nephrology & Transplant Nephrology at The University of Chicago.
At Southwest Kidney Institute in Central Phoenix, Dr. Khurana provides comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease, with a strong focus on Transplantation and ICU Nephrology. He has published research on topics including Pauci-immune and immune glomerular lesions in kidney transplants for systemic lupus erythematosus and Polyuria, acidosis, and coma following massive ibuprofen ingestion. Dr. Khurana currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at the Arizona State University School of Medicine.
Dr. Khurana is fluent in Punjabi and Hindi. He has been consistently recognized as a Phoenix Magazine “Top Doctor” from 2017 to 2025. Additionally, he received the Award for Best Subspecialty Teaching Attending at Banner University Medical Center in 2011-12, 2014-2015, and 2019-2020. Dr. Khurana is an active member of the Renal Physicians Association and the American Society of Nephrology, and has served as a Member of the Health Care Payment Committee, Renal Physician Association, since 2013. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing pickleball, hiking with his dog, playing golf, reading books, and traveling with his wife and 2 kids.
