Biography

Catherine Cecelia Vatsis, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist. She earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine; completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Orlando Health in Florida; and completed fellowship training in Nephrology and Hypertension at The University of Texas in Houston.

At Southwest Kidney Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. Vatsis focuses on managing complex kidney conditions, including hypertension and transplant-related care. She previously served as an assistant professor in the Department of Transplant Surgery, where she cared for patients who had received kidney transplants.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Vatsis enjoys traveling to new places, playing tennis, hiking in the mountains, and spending time with her puppy, Blue. She is also an avid sports fan who cheers for the Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Lions.
