Biography

Gabriel El-Kass, MD, FACS, is board-certified in internal medicine, nephrology, and geriatric medicine, and is certified in interventional nephrology by the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASDIN).

Dr. El-Kass earned his medical degree from the University of Aleppo in Syria; completed residency training in internal medicine at Lutheran Medical Center (now known as NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn; and specialized further by achieving fellowships in geriatrics at North Shore University Hospital-Long Island Jewish Medical Center and nephrology at New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital.

At Southwest Kidney Institute’s Vascular Access Center, Dr. El-Kass provides comprehensive dialysis vascular access care care for patients with chronic kidney disease. He has published research on “Is There a Correlation Between Physicians’ Ethnicity and Nursing Home Placement?”, and serves as Medical Director of Davita Pascua Yaqui Hemodialysis Unit. Dr. El-Kass is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona.

Dr. El-Kass is fluent in Arabic and has received the COLA Laboratory Excellence Award & Certificate. He is an active member of the Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP) and ASDIN. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing music and collecting sports cards and stamps.
