Biography
Dr. Minesh Rajpal is a board-certified nephrologist and hypertension specialist who provides kidney care at Southwest Kidney Institute’s Surprise, Boswell, and Thunderbird locations.
He earned his medical degree from JNMC, completed residency in internal medicine at the University at Buffalo, and then trained in nephrology and hypertension at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Rajpal focuses on cardiovascular protection and delaying dialysis in chronic kidney disease, particularly in patients with proteinuria, IgA nephropathy, lupus nephritis, gout, and genetic kidney disorders. He is also interested in exploring applications of artificial intelligence in nephrology. As director of research and principal investigator, Dr. Rajpal brings extensive experience in renovascular hypertension, glomerulonephritis, and preventative nephrology, and he leads multiple clinical trials at SKI.
His notable research publications includes: “Practical Considerations and Implementation of Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter-2 Inhibitors in Chronic Kidney Disease: Who, When, and How? A Position Statement by Nephrologists.”
His care philosophy is to partner with patients through evidence-based, preventive kidney care: “My goal is to empower patients to preserve kidney function and manage hypertension in a thoughtful, personalized way.”
He received a Caregiver Appreciation Award from Cleveland Clinic and is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) and the National Kidney Foundation (NKF).
