Biography
Pradeep Mehra, MD is a board-certified nephrologist who provides comprehensive kidney care at Southwest Kidney Institute’s Warner location. Dr. Mehra is the current President of Southwest Kidney Institute.
Originally from Amritsar, Punjab, India, Dr. Mehra earned his medical degree from Government Medical College Amritsar. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and fellowship training in nephrology at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Dr. Mehra’s clinical interests include hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, and kidney stones. He is an active member of the Renal Physicians Association (RPA) and the American College of Physicians (ACP), and previously served on the Board of the National Kidney Foundation of Arizona. Recognized for his dedication to patient care, Dr. Mehra has been named a Phoenix Top Doc.
Fluent in Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi, Dr. Mehra views patient care as a partnership built on trust and communication: “My goal is to understand each patient’s values, beliefs, and circumstances, so I can provide care that is both effective and meaningful to them.”
Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures through their traditions and cuisine.
