Biography

Richard Flick, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist. Originally from Ravenna, Ohio, He earned his medical degree from Northern Ohio Medical University, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Akron General Medical Center, in Ohio, and fellowship training in Nephrology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center

At Southwest Kidney Institute in Thunderbird, Dr. Flick provides comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease, with a clinical focus on Home Dialysis and general nephrology.He serves as Medical Director for Southwest Kidney/DaVita Arrowhead Lakes, overseeing in-center hemodialysis and home peritoneal dialysis programs.

Dr. Flick has published research on the use of thyroid hormone to improve outcomes in acute kidney injury.

He is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology and the Renal Physicians Association and has been recognized as a Top Doc in Arizona (2007–2008). Outside of medicine, he enjoys golf, cycling, pickleball, hiking, and skiing.
